and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” genesis 2:7 god made me. like a potter, god crafted me. god made me with skill and intention. i am complex and complicated. i have god’s life-breathed in me. name(required) email(required) comment(required) posted in human behavior | leave a comment god heals damaged emotions… posted on september 2, 2016 by alan wohlander “and i will ask the father, and he will give you another advocate, who will never leave you.” john 14:16 the greek word translated “comforter” or “counselor”  is parakletos. this word is means “one called to the side of another”; the word carries a secondary thought concerning the purpose of the calling alongside and that is to counsel or support the one who needs it. this counselor, oriparaclete, is god the holy spirit, the third person of the trinity who has been “called to our side.” he is a personal being, and he indwells every believer at conversion. there are some areas of our lives that need special healing by the holy spirit. discipline, normal prayer and willpower are not effective in the “renewing of the mind” because of the depth of the hurts and emotional scars. romans 8:26 speaks to our infirmities, our weaknesses and frailties of body and soul. often people find themselves physically , spiritually and emotionally exhausted by life and circumstances. isaiah tells us in verses 29 that god will gives strength, power and might to those who are faint, weary, and fatigued. we are fearfully and wonderfully made by our god who created the heavens and the earth, and we are very special and unique.  creation therapy is the key that will give you a better understanding of this uniqueness.  we will help you to understand why you do the things you do and act the way you act. creation therapy is a new approach to counseling that deals with the “inner man” rather than outer manifestations or problems.  we will teach you how to identify the “hidden” problems and how to work through them with a better understanding. we receive letters every day from ministers, counselors and clients who tell us that understanding who god has created them to be has change their lives.  for the first time, people are genuinely being helped to resolve their problems.  we know that this counseling/coaching/consulting can help you personally and help you fulfill the calling that god has placed on your life. complete the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible. be blessed. first name email(required) how can we help?(required) posted in human behavior | leave a comment the heart of man…light vs. darkness posted on august 1, 2016 by alan wohlander i am often asked by people what really happens when a person accepts christ as savior. what is this transformation all about. i am not a theologian, i am a student of human behavior, a counselor, coach and creationist that believes god’s fingerprint is upon every person he has created. i have used on occasion the usual theological jargon of repentance, justification, regeneration, adoption, sanctification and such, only to see a blank stare, appearing like a deer just frozen in the headlights. several years ago god showed me a simple and understandable way to share the “rebirth”and “transformation” experience of the new believer. god has given us light. satan has given us darkness. as children we learn of primary colors, sets of colors that can be combined to make a useful range of colors. natural man (unreedemed) first let’s talk about the state of the unbeliever or the natural man. when man was separated from god in the garden, due to the sin of adam, the light was removed (subtracted) from man’s heart. romans 1:22 tells us that “although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal god for images made to look like a mortal human being…”  in man’s attempt to recapture what he had lost he could only create an image of himself, “man”. the primary colors of red, green and blue have been replaced by the secondary colors of yellow, magenta and cyan and when mixed leaves a very dark place in the heart.  spiritual man (redeemed) “to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto god, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” acts 26:18 when a person chooses to accept christ as their redeemer there is a transformation to what god intended for his creation. “for god, who said, “let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of god’s glory displayed in the face of christ” (2 corinthians 4:60). the additive, the light of christ, when added to the primary and secondary colors produces pure white light. a pure heart filled with holy spirit in the “holy of holies”, the heart of the “spiritual man”, as god intended. posted in human behavior | leave a comment adhd…a biblical approach posted on july 31, 2016 by alan wohlander  “the exact cause of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (adhd) isn’t known. but it may run in families. ongoing research is focused on finding the genes that cause a person to be likely to get adhd. a mother’s use of cigarettes, alcohol, or other drugs during pregnancy may increase the risk for adhd.” nov 14, 2014 webmd the intent of this writing is not to completely answer all the questions of what causes adhd and treatment but to begin a conversation of a “biblical approach” to causation and understanding temperament to resolve it. “temperament, in simple terms, is the inborn (not genetic, i.e., brown hair, blue eyes, etc.) part of man that determines how he reacts to people, places and things. in short, it is how people interact with their environments and the world around them. temperament pinpoints our perception of ourselves and the people who love us. it is also the determining factor in how well we handle the stresses and pressures of life. temperament can best be defined as spiritual genetics or god’s imprint upon each one of us. three are involved in the conception of a child, the mother, the father, and the creator.” taken from creation therapy, a biblically based model for christian counseling by dr. richard g. arno my proposition is that the adhd child or adult is the result of a sanguine individual operating out of the weaknesses of the sanguine in the inclusion area of the temperament. i intend to present to you information to make a comparison of possible causation. the weaknesses of a sanguine in inclusion are those that can become very destructive to the sanguine, both emotionally and spiritually. these include: always the center of the conversation, apt to take on the behavior and morals of the people around them, impulsive, undisciplined, rude, prone to exaggerate, need to appear successful (even to the point of exaggeration), will ignore responsibilities in order to be with people. a compiled list of the weaknesses of a sanguine hot-tempered but quick to forgive and forget. impulsive. acts without thinking and makes decisions based on their emotions. exaggerates without intending to lie. it is how they actually perceive the situation. short attention span. fear of rejection. anxiety, if they are forced to be away from people. adopts the behavior and morality of others in order to remain the center of attention. if they get attention with bad behavior, they will not give up the bad behavior. needs to be the center of attention. requires great amounts of recognition. extremely low self-esteem. irresponsible in regard to tasks, especially when the opportunity to socialize arises. stress caused by inactivity. they live their lives at a fast and furious pace. spends money without worrying about where it comes from or what it might be needed for. they love sales and are attracted to colorfully packaged items. will adopt the morality of the crowd. when they leave the disciplined environment, the sanguine will also leave the discipline. indulges in gambling and alcoholic binges, drugs, sexual sins, etc. the self-indulgence is not the weakness; it is the way it is met that is the weakness. they will turn their back on deep relationships because they have no trouble replacing them.   the following is taken from the dsm-v diagnostic manual for adhd either (1) or (2): (1) six (or more) of the following symptoms of inattention have persisted for at least 6 months to a degree that is maladaptive and inconsistent with developmental level: inattention often fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork, or other activities often has difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly often does not follow through with instructions, and fails to finish school work, chores, or duties in the workplace often has difficulty organizing tasks and activities often loses things necessary for tasks or activities (e.g. toys, assignments, pencils, books, or tools). is often easily distracted by extraneous stimuli is often forgetful in daily activities my comment on inattention is as follows: the sanguine in inclusion excels in communication-oriented things, but becomes impatient with task-oriented jobs. the sanguine do not relate well to tasks but loves to relate to people. if they do take a task, it is done as quickly as possible so they can be with people again. they are the least disciplined and organized of all the temperaments. either (1) or (2): (2) six (or more) of the following symptoms have persisted for at least 6 months to a degree that is maladaptive and inconsistent with developmental level: hyperactivity often fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat. often leaves seat in classroom or in other situations in which remaining seated is expected. often runs about or climbs excessively in situations in which it is inappropriate often has difficulty playing or engaging in leisure activities quietly is often “on the go” or often acts as if “driven by a motor” often talks excessively my comment on the hyperactivity is as follows: inactivity causes the sanguine stress because the pace at which they like to live their lives is fast and furious. impulsivity often blurts out answers before questions have been completed often has difficulty awaiting turn often interrupts or intrudes on others (e.g. butts into conversations or games activity my comment on the impulsivity is as follows: the sanguine in inclusion is the most impulsive of all the temperaments. they act and talk before they think through what will happen because of their actions. in conclusion, the sanguine has some very definite strengths the area of inclusion. the temperament strengths of the sanguine include: being friendly, outgoing, inspiring to others, relationship oriented, enthusiastic, warm, optimistic, ability to see the bright side of life, and the good in other people. sanguines genuinely like people, are rarely found alone, and freely interact with people. when looking at these strengths, you can see the potential for doing good works for god when sanguines are brought under god’s ordinances. it appears that many of the characteristics noted for the diagnosis of adhd came be found in the weaknesses of the sanguine in the temperament area of inclusion. early childhood teaching of self-control, understanding of the need for socialization, teaching self-discipline, setting boundaries, learning respect for authority can highly lessen the impact on the sanguine child and ultimately the sanguine adult. posted in
